Most real estate agents today recognize the importance of having a web presence in building a successful business. Just as with social media posts, blogging allows you to give value to your target audience by regularly offering up free advice. Blogging is a great way to stay top-of-mind for your audience and works as a relationship-building tool. Here are three reasons why we think blogging is a MUST for realtors:
1. It positions you as an expert
Keeping a regular real estate blog allows you to show off your expertise as an agent. Blogging about topics within your niche market will help you establish yourself as an expert. For example, if you target first-time buyers in Denver, you might do a blog post that highlights the best neighborhoods for young professionals in the city. You’ll come across as the knowledgable real estate expert that you are, and become the go-to agent in your community.
2. Blogging drives business
The internet is where most people start their home searches. By building a blog that people gain value from and like to read, you’ll be increasing your online presence, which drives business. One of the biggest factors Google uses to rank websites is the content they provide. Search engines want to satisfy searchers, so if you have valuable, consistent information on your site, you will appear higher in search rankings. The more you appear in searches, the more you’ll see client conversions.
3. You’ll add value
Through blogging, you are providing a service. And as a realtor, you’re here to serve! Make each post informative or inspirational. New blogs will also give you fresh content to post to social media and share with your email list. We recommend writing at least one blog post per week and then reusing that same blog content on social media and email marketing. Think of blogging as the longer, more in-depth version of your social posts that week.
